Student Council Proposals – Sept. 2020

Student Council 2020-21

Ava, 6th

My proposals for student council this year are as follows.

A crazy hat day where you can either have a pre made or homemade hat of your choice.

For my next suggestion I would like to hold a “Great Garrydoolis Bake Off”.

Due to Covid 19, the students could bake their creations at home and bring them into school to be judged.

For Halloween this year my idea is “If a fairy tale character lived in 2020, what would they look like?”

For my last idea, we could have a fundraising event, for example, we could each pay €2 to not wear our school uniforms. We could have a talent show where each student shows off their individual skills and qualities or even a sponsored walk.

As 2020 have not been the best year yet let’s aim to finish it with a bang.

Hi. As you all know my name is Martha Hogan. I would lie to explain to you why I should get on the student council this year. I have been on the student council before .I have some new ideas for events that the student council could run.

• A sports day.
• Meditation for wellbeing.
• A themed no-uniform day once a month.
• A photo competition.

Finally, I know the school and pupils well. I have plenty good ideas. I am reliable and honest. I hope I get a chance to help the pupils of Garrydoolis again. Thank you for listening.

Here is an idea, I would like to pump the footballs and basketballs so there would be no fighting for the best balls.

I would like to be on the school council because I have never been on it before. I am now in 6^th class and feel I could be helpful to everyone. I would like to have a teddy bear picnic in the classroom.

 I am going for student council this year because I would enjoy it.

These are my ideas:

• We could have lunch outside
• Watch a movie
• Design a t-shirt
• A non-uniform day

Hi I would like to be on the student council because it is my last year. Here are some of my ideas. We could put up a net to stop all the balls going out. We could get a new tracksuit.  Maybe we could bring in 1 or 2 euro and have a no uniform day and wear whatever we wanted to. Thank you for listing and please vote for me.

Students and teachers of Garrydoolis N.S.,

I would love to be part of student council this year . I know things have been rough and I would love to be able to help people on my last year here. I would also love to show leadership and friendship and fun in school the best I can. I don’t have a lot of ideas but I do have one . I think we could do this thing called wacky week where each classroom could wear whatever clothes they want and have no homework for a whole week and on that Friday we could have treats and watch a movie. We could do that the last week of every month. Because I don’t have a lot of ideas I would be happy to take suggestions if I get to be part of the student council. And that’s it. Wish me luck!

This year is a little different for everyone due to  Covid 19, but we need to make the best out of this situation. I was thinking that we could get some chalk and express how we feel by drawing or writing on the ground and then watch it be washed away by the rain. Maybe we could do a beach day where we all dress up as if we were going to the beach, as some of us did not get the chance this year. I was also thinking of doing a show and tell where you bring in the equipment for your favourite sport or hobby!

Hi. I’m going for the student council this year. We may not be able to go anywhere but we can do some things in school that are fun. I’m really grateful that the school got the small  wall. Let’s try and take care of it as much as we can. Sanitize, Stay positive. I’ll try my best for everyone, Hopefully you can too. Here are some of my ideas for student council. We could have a twin day where you dress the same as a sibling or friend for a day. We could do a colour theme week where each class gets a colour and dresses according to that colour for a week. Thank you for listening to my student council speech!
